Ya casi lo termino! - I'm almost done!

Hola! Las vueltas de la vida me trajeron de regreso a mi ciudad, ja! Y lo primero que hice luego de desempacar fue volver a mi bordado, por supuesto!!
Todavía me faltan algunas zonas de verde y marrón en el jarrón y las hojas, pero ya pueden ver mi trabajo casi terminado. ¿No se ve precioso?

Hello! Life took me back to my home city, ha! And of course, the first thing I did after unpacking was to get back to my embroidery!!

You can see some areas still to be completed on the vase and the leaves, but the piece is pretty much done. Doesn’t it look gorgeous?

Hilos para bordar - Floss for cross stitching

¿Qué hilos usan para bordar? En mi ciudad no había mucha variedad, así que siempre trabajé con Anchor. Tampoco incursioné en hilos con brillos, ni con degradé de tonos porque me gustan los trabajos realistas.
Ahora que vivo en una ciudad más grande y que ofrece más opciones y variedades, estoy tentada con probar otras marcas, empezando con la más "obvia": DMC.


What flosses do you use to cross stitch? In my home city there isn't much variety so I always used Anchor. I haven't worked with metallic nor variegated flosses either because I like a "realistic" look on my embroideries.
Now that I'm living in a larger city I can find greater and diverse options to work with, so I'm tempted on trying other brands and styles, starting with the "obvious" one: DMC.

Momentos de cambios - Time of making some changes

¡Hola a todos! No he escrito últimamente ya que he estado ocupada dilucidando algunos cambios profesionales. Todavía no terminé de hacerlo, pero sí me he mudado. Ahora vivo en una ciudad mucho más grande, y tuve que dejar atrás todos mis materiales para bordar, así que por el momento no estoy bordando en punto cruz. Es difícil no hacerlo y realmente lo extraño, pero no pude traer todas mis cosas todavía, así que voy a tener que ser paciente.
Aún no he terminado la pieza en la que estaba trabajando, así que voy a postear su actualización cuando pueda ir a casa y tomarle algunas fotos.
Voy a volver a postear aquí cuando pueda organizar algunas oportunidades laborales sobre las cuales estoy trabajando. ¡Nos vemos prontito!


Hello everybody! I haven't posted here for a while, and that's because I've been busy sorting out some career changes. I'm not done with all that yet, but I have moved and I live in a bigger city now! I had to leave my embroidery materials behind so for the time being I'm not cross stitching. It's hard and I really really miss it! but I couldn't bring all of my stuff yet, so I'd have to be patient.
I couldn't finish the piece I was working on, so I'll be posting some updates on it whenever I can go back home and take some pictures of it.
I'll be back posting whenever I can organize some job opportunities. Be back soon!

Y lo prometido es deuda: he aquí el trabajo que me tiene ocupada hace algunos meses ya! Saqué el modelo de una muy vieja revista española que llegó a mis manos hace varios años. Va también una imagen de cómo va el progreso del trabajo! Me falta mucho, ¿verdad? :)

As promised, here's the labor I'm working on for a few months now! I found the pattern on a very old Spanish magazine that got to my hands several years ago. I'm also adding a picture that shows how the work is moving along. A long way to go, right? :)

Se acerca la Navidad! - Christmas is around the corner!

Wow, y ya pasó otro año y se nos acerca la Navidad!! Este año tampoco voy a hacer algún bordado alusivo... nunca termino a tiempo!
Hace ya un tiempo estoy metida de lleno en un cuadro con frutas (ya era hora de dejar atrás tantas flores!!). Es bastante grande, al punto en que es poco práctico para manejarlo y guardarlo, pero como me gustan los grandes trabajos sigo con entusiasmo. Luego voy a postear fotos del molde que estoy siguiendo y el progreso en el bordado!

Wow, another year has passed by and Christmas is almost here again!! As usual, I won't be working on an Holiday-related embroidery this year, because I can never finish them on time!
I've been working on a big fruit basket for a while now (it was time to let the flowers go!!). It's pretty big and difficult to handle, but I love big embroideries! I'll be posting pictures of the pattern and the work in progress pretty soon!
